About the talk
As students move through the MYP program, student assessment often becomes increasingly focused on tests and may preclude more authentic opportunities for feedback and iterative learning. By changing how we think about the traditional forms of assessment in Math, students can engage in small, daily assessments. This will allow for consistent opportunities for the teacher and students to identify areas of growth that can be addressed immediately. This shift in focus opens up more available time to engage in culminating, interdisciplinary projects that become part of the feedback loop.
In this talk with MYP educator Stephanie Chin, explore various ways to introduce daily assessments and create culminating tasks that can lend themselves to interdisciplinary units.
Key objectives
- Explore different ways to introduce daily assessments in Math
