Join experienced PYP educators and leaders Cindy Blackburn, Judy Imamudeen, and Kirsten Durward as they share practical strategies and game-changing tips to make your PYPx a resounding success. From using AI to spark meaningful inquiry to equipping mentors for the journey ahead, this meetup is all about turning challenges into opportunities for growth and success. 

Session 01

Guiding student agency as PYPx mentors

Unpack the delicate art of balancing student independence with mentor support in the PYPx with Judy Imamudeen. Learn how mentors—from family members to specialists—can help students sharpen their collaboration and self-management skills while empowering them to take ownership of their learning.

In this session, you will:

  1. Explore strategies to guide students without taking over.
  2. Discover how mentor interactions can teach students critical collaboration and self-management skills.
  3. Access ready-to-use tools to support mentors in fostering meaningful student-led inquiry.

Launching your PYPx with confidence and creativity

Kickstart your PYPx journey with Kirsten Durward in this energizing session designed to equip PYP coordinators and educators with the tools and insights needed to lead the exhibition planning process with confidence. Explore how the PYPx empowers students to revisit and deepen their understanding of specified (key) concepts while making the exhibition a memorable and impactful experience for everyone involved.

In this session, you will:

  1. Simplify the IB requirements into actionable steps.
  2. Gain fresh ideas and creative approaches to inspire and support educators and diverse learners.
  3. Discover practical strategies to celebrate student growth and authentic action.

AI Tutors for the PYPx

01:15 pm – 2:15 pm GMT | 60 minutes

Imagine every student or group having a personal coach to navigate the PYP Exhibition with clarity and confidence. AI tutors make this possible, acting as responsive guides to help students unpack the PYP framework, refine inquiries, and reflect deeply. From simplifying complex tasks to sparking creativity, AI tutors can make the PYPx journey more personalized and joyful.

In this session, you will:

  1. Explore how AI tutors can guide students in forming questions, aligning inquiries with the PYP framework, and scaffolding their learning.
  2. Learn to use AI as a planning partner for teachers and students, anticipating barriers and choosing responsive strategies.
  3. Discover how AI tutors can enhance student reflection, helping them connect ideas and grow through the process.
