Enhancing Assessment Capability & Student Wellbeing in the PYP

Wednesday, 8th of May, 2024 | 15:00 – 17:30 AEST

In our quest to nurture resilient, compassionate PYP learners, we encounter pivotal challenges: How can we transform feedback into a tool that not only assesses but enriches student learning? And how do we integrate wellbeing into the fabric of our educational practices, ensuring every student feels supported and valued?

Best-selling author and educational thought leader James Nottingham and experienced school leader Stuart Ablitt bring these questions to the forefront, offering expert insights and practical strategies to enhance student learning and wellbeing in your learning communities.

Session 1

15:00 – 16:00 AEST (60 min)

Feedback becomes formative when it is used to determine the next steps in learning. The problem is that many—maybe even most—students view feedback as a summary of what they have achieved.

This workshop, led by James Nottingham, author of 12 bestselling books including Challenging Feedback, aims to redefine feedback’s role in learning. By focusing on the timing, type, and tone, educators will learn how to make feedback a catalyst for student action, ensuring it is not just received but acted upon to foster meaningful learning.
